SRBIJA BEZ BARIJERA

About project

The SERBIA WITHOUT BARRIERS website was created as part of the Get to Know Me Through What I Create Project, implemented by the Maska NGO, with the support of the Department for the Protection of Persons with Disabilities of the Ministry of Labour, Employment, Veteran and Social Affairs.

The content of the site mirrors the Get to Know Me Through What I Create publication, which was prepared as part of the project of the same name.

The goal of the Project is to present the creativity of persons with disabilities, the importance and role of organizations that bring them together, as well as the results of the Department for the Protection of Persons with Disabilities of the Ministry of Labour, Employment, Veteran and Social Affairs achieved in the 2017-2022 period in partnership with PWD organizations.

The website presents part of the results achieved primarily in the area of accessibility, improvement of the working conditions of organizations and inclusion.

It also depicts the formation and development of PWD organizations, including 33 unions that gather together about 500 local associations in more than 100 local communities in the Republic of Serbia.

Along with this, it highlights the importance of 61 enterprises for professional rehabilitation and employment of persons with disabilities that operate in 26 local communities.

Protection of rights and improvement of the position of persons with disabilities requires commitment, tolerance, understanding and dedicated work, and above all, partnership with the persons with disabilities themselves.

We are convinced that the state – non-governmental sector partnership will be further maintained in the coming period, because only together we can do anything.

We are grateful to unions, associations, enterprises and individuals for sharing their information and photos, without which this Project would not have been possible.
