Youth with Disabilities Forum of Serbia

The Youth with Disabilities Forum of Serbia was founded on 21 December 2010 by four organizations: Youth with Disabilities Forum of Belgrade, Youth with Disabilities Forum of Novi Sad, Youth with Disabilities Forum of Kragujevac and Youth with Disabilities Forum of Trstenik. The association was founded with the desire to contribute to the social inclusion of persons with disabilities, by advocacy and promotion of human rights through the establishment of cross-sector partnerships, building and strengthening necessary human and other resources and capacities. Later on, the Association of Residents of Homes for Disabled Adults and the Equal Citizens association joined the work of the Association. The President of the Forum is Jasmina Majstorovic Pivljakovic.

The task of the Forum is to promote the position of persons with disabilities within the framework of modern social policy, where persons with disabilities are viewed as persons with all their rights and needs. Equal opportunities for all, including also the right to diversity, equality of persons with disability.

 This association and its members have successfully implemented over 100 projects, with more than 10,000 direct users, which contribute to the development of an inclusive society at the local, regional and national level. The association represents and advocates the interests of persons with disabilities in several areas (education, employment, culture, accessibility, entrepreneurship, social policy and social protection), enabling the improvement of the position of persons with disabilities and the creation of equal opportunities.

The vision of the Forum is a society of equal and active citizens in which people with disabilities are empowered to live and make decisions independently.ties and their full participation in society is what the Forum strives for.
